Uglow Family HistoryUGLOWS IN ST MICHAEL CAERHAYS
|
This is a small village and parish on the south coast of Cornwall between the parishes of Veryan and Goran. It is named after St Michael and the name of the manor, Caerhayes. Although an ancient manor belonging to the Trevanion family, the present Georgian castellated house was built in 1808, and designed by John Nash, the architect of Buckingham Palace. The terraced gardens contain many ornamental and exotic trees and are occasionally open to the public - some history here. Population
